Travis Reese is the City's Fire Inspector, Building Inspector and a volunteer fireman.  The Fire Inspector enforces applicable provisions of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life/Safety Codes and Standards, Florida Fire Prevention Code, the Florida Building Code, and the City of Clewiston's municipal code as it relates to the life safety enforcement for the public.  Mr. Reese conducts annual fire inspections on all commercial, educational, and residential occupancies equal to three units and greater as mandated by law. 

 

 
Mr. Reese is responsible for specialized fire inspections and permits such as special effects/pyrotechnics, flammable and combustible liquids and uses.  He oversees the installation of automatic fire sprinkler protection systems, smoke evacuation systems, and fire alarm systems.  In addition to the above-mentioned duties, the Fire Inspector is also responsible for conducting fire investigations into the cause and origin of fires that are within our jurisdiction.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Fire Inspector's office reviews new construction plans to ascertain compliance with national, state, and local codes and standards.  Mr. Reese inspects construction sites to ensure the final product of the building meets with the approved building plan.  He will test all fire protection and fire alarm systems to ensure all function, as required by code.
