Policies

  • The Clewiston Golf Course is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
  • Food or drinks may not be brought onto the premises without the permission of Management.
  • No private coolers are allowed.
  • No glass containers of any kind are permitted on the course.
  • Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the Pro Shop, Country Club, Driving Range or the Golf Course according to federal, state and local laws.
  • No smoking is permitted in any City buildings (including the Country Club).
  • Obscene, profane or abusive language will not be used or tolerated.
  • Throwing clubs or willful damage to the course or golf carts will not be tolerated.
  • Complaints shall be submitted to Management or to the City Manager in writing.

 Course Policies:

  • USGA rules govern all play except where local rules apply.  (See scorecard for local rules.)
  • All tee times are open to the public except when otherwise indicated.
  • All golfers must register in the clubhouse before teeing off.  Players are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of their tee times.
  • Carts are allowed in the parking areas in order to pick up and drop off clubs.  Please return all carts to the cart staging area as soon as play is completed.
  • No starting on any hole other than one designated as a starting hole.
  • Tuesday tee times (winter) are reserved for the Ladies Association until 8:30 a.m.
  • Use of tee areas, fairways and greens for practice is prohibited; use designated practice areas only.
  • Slower players are expected to allow faster players to play through.
  • A ball is considered lost if not found in five minutes.
  • All players must have their own set of clubs.
  • The High School golf team(s) will be given privileges as determined by Management.
  • An adult must accompany any golfer under 15 on weekends and holidays.
  • Golfers under the age of 15 shall not operate a golf cart.  (Driver must possess a restricted or driver's license.)
  • Only two carts per foursome, one cart per twosome.  Riders are allowed only if it does not require an extra cart. An additional fee will be charged for rider(s).
  • No twosome or single tee times are to be booked before noon on weekends and holidays during the winter.  Management reserves the right to fit players in if at all possible.
  • Fivesomes are allowed.  Sixsomes or greater are allowed only with permission from Management.

 Weather Policy:

  • Management has the authority to delay opening or to close the golf course whenever conditions warrant.
  • Rain checks will be issued for rounds that are not completed due to inclement weather only.  Golfers who start their round after inclement weather has begun will not be issued a rain check.
  • The golf course does not have a lightning detection and warning system.  Players play at their own risk.  Rain, not lightning-proof, shelters are available on the course.

 Pace of Play:

  • Rounds of golf (18 holes) should not take more than four hours and 20 minutes "time par," or less.
  • Groups will be required to play at this pace and to maintain their starting interval behind the group in front of them.
  • Groups that do not maintain this pace may be required to skip a portion of the course in order to achieve the four hours and 20 minutes "time par."

 Dress Code:

  • Proper golf attire is required at all times.
  • Tank tops and halter-tops are not permitted.  Men must wear shirts with sleeves.
  • Running shorts, cycling shorts and swimsuits are also prohibited.
  • Denim jeans are permitted provided that they are in acceptable condition.
  • No cutoffs.
  • Shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer.
  • Shoes (suitable for golf courses) are to be worn at all times.

Care of the course:

  • Golf carts are to remain on paths around all greens and tees where provided.
  • Control lines or circles (when marked) around all greens indicate that carts must remain outside these lines.
  • Players are required to replace divots or fill divots with soil in fairways.
  • Players are required to fix ball marks and rake bunkers.  (Leave rakes in bunkers when finished.)

Failure to follow the golf course policies may result in loss of golfing privileges.
