The City of Clewiston is seeking residents to join the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board. Interested individuals can submit their applications by February 10th at 5 PM. Qualification & Terms According to Resolution No. 2007-04

The City of Clewiston is now accepting applications for appointment to the Community Redevelopment Advisory Board (CRAB). This important board provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) issues and downtown redevelopment matters, as outlined in Chapter 163, Part III, Florida Statutes.

Board Composition & Term
• CRAB consists of seven (7) members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the City Commission.
• Initial terms: Three (3) members will serve two-year terms, and four (4) members will serve three-year terms.
• Subsequent terms: All members will serve three-year terms.
• Members will elect a chairman from among themselves.

Qualifications
• Must be a resident of Hendry County.
• To the extent possible, members should live or work in the City of Clewiston.
• CRAB members serve on a voluntary basis and will not receive compensation, though reasonable expenses will be covered by the city.

Meetings & Public Transparency
• CRAB operates under Florida's Sunshine Laws, ensuring transparency in meetings and decision-making.
• The City Manager will provide administrative support, including assistance with public notice requirements and financial disclosure filings.
• Meetings and public hearings will be held on an as-needed basis to address CRA and downtown redevelopment matters.
